This vase and mini-bowl were completed last September. I had to spend a great deal of time in waiting rooms so I used the beehive quilling technique to help pass the time.
I started the vase by cutting down a cone shaped piece of foam and fitting it to the bottom of a 6 inch foam ball. I wrapped the whole thing in plastic wrap to hold it together and keep the glue from sticking to the project.
Then I started applying the beehive quilled strips. I started on the bottom with white and added two gray shades. I would have liked to use more gray shades and have a more gradual color gradation but I was in a situation of using the color I had on hand.
After all the gray and white were glued and pinned. I lined the top with a row of black. Then removed it from the form.
